Rules of the Game

Youth Talent Cricket League (YTCL)

1. Scope and Purpose

The Management Committee of YTCL has established this Code of Conduct to protect the integrity, spirit, and values of cricket, while ensuring the safety, discipline, and well-being of young players.

This Code applies to players, parents, coaches, team officials, umpires, managers, and all members associated with YTCL. Any misconduct will be addressed fairly and promptly by the Management Committee / Disciplinary Committee.

"All YTCL matches and activities must be played in the true spirit of cricket, with respect for the game, officials, and fellow participants."

2. Core Values of YTCL

All participants must respect:

Opponents
Team Members & Captains
Match Officials & Umpires
Cricket Traditions & Spirit

Safety and security of players—especially students—must always be the top priority.

3. Code of Conduct for Players

  • All players are automatically bound by this Code.
  • Players and parents must understand acceptable and unacceptable behaviour.
  • Players must accept the authority of umpires and officials at all times.
  • Any dispute must be resolved through YTCL’s disciplinary process only.

Player Responsibilities Include:

Respecting umpire decisions without argument or protest
No abusive language, gestures, or aggressive behaviour
No damage to cricket equipment or ground property
No excessive appealing, time-wasting, or intimidation
No physical violence or racial comments
No ball tampering or unfair play
No betting, gambling, or match-fixing
Punctuality for matches and practice sessions
Wearing proper safety gear and approved sports attire
No alcohol consumption during matches or events

4.Code of Conduct For Umpires

  • Umpires must act with fairness, neutrality, and professionalism
  • No public or media statements that harm YTCL or the game
  • No involvement in betting, match-fixing, or illegal activities
  • Umpires have full authority to control unfair play and unsafe conduct
  • Alcohol consumption during match hours is strictly prohibited

5.Code of Conduct For Parents / Guardians

  • Parents must encourage fair play and respect for rules and officials
  • They must support effort and improvement, not just winning
  • Use respectful language on and off the field
  • Never argue with umpires or officials
  • Ensure children follow safety and discipline rules
  • Parents must avoid betting, gambling, or match-fixing

Parents remain responsible for their childs safety and conduct at all times.

6. Code of Conduct For Coaches, Captains & Team Officials

All officials must put player safety and well-being above results

Promote fair play, discipline, and respect

Avoid time-wasting and unfair tactics

They must not coach or interfere during live matches

Avoid abusive language, gestures, or intimidation

Dress professionally in team-approved clothing

Avoid electronic communication during matches

Never engage in betting, match-fixing, or corruption

Ensure a safe and positive environment for young players

Alcohol consumption during match hours is strictly prohibited.

7. Disciplinary Action & Penalties

If any individual violates this Code:

The Management Committee / Disciplinary Committee will decide suitable action.

Decided by the Disciplinary Committee:

WarningSuspensionRemoval from EventsPermanent Ban

All decisions will be final and binding.

8. Amendments & Validity

  • • Rapid Sports and Events Private Limited may update this Code as required.
  • • Headings are for guidance only.
  • • If any clause is found invalid, the remaining Code will continue to apply.

Appendix A – Betting & Match-Fixing(strictly Prohibited)

No YTCL participant shall:

  • Bet or gamble on any YTCL match or event
  • Encourage others to bet
  • Fix or influence match results
  • Share insider information for financial benefit
  • Accept money, gifts, or rewards that harms the game integrity
  • Hide or fail to report corrupt approaches

Failure to report such activities will also be treated as a serious offence.
